Hounslow Council Leader, Councillor Shantanu Rajawat, has issued a statement following the fire which took place on Berkeley Avenue in Cranford.
Councillor Shantanu Rajawat, Leader of Hounslow Council, said:
“I was deeply saddened to learn about the death of a woman following a house fire in Berkeley Avenue in Cranford earlier this week.
“My thoughts are with her loved ones at this difficult time, with those injured, and with all those affected by this shocking incident.
“Council teams have been supporting the emergency response and are working closely with partners to ensure appropriate support is available to those affected.
“We understand that police believe the fire may have been started deliberately. The police currently believe this to be an isolated incident, and residents will see an increased police presence in the area as investigations continue.
“I urge anyone with information, or footage that may assist the investigation, is urged to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 359/19Aug. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.”
