Former Councillor David Mockeridge, who was a Labour Member for Hounslow Heath Ward (which at the time, mostly covered Hounslow West) from 1982 to 1998 has died at home aged 73, it was announced this week.  He was also elected Mayor of Hounslow in 1988/89.

He held a number of roles on Hounslow Council, Feltham and Heston Labour Party and Hounslow & Spelthorne Cooperative Party. His widow Sue was also active holding a number of senior roles within Hounslow’s Labour organisations.

His death was as a result of a long term underlying illness and unrelated to Covid-19.  Due to the current health crisis, very few people will be able to attend his funeral which will take place at the weekend.

Cllr Tony Louki, The Mayor of Hounslow has personally spoken to Sue, and will send a letter on behalf of the Council passing on condolences and sympathies to Mr Mockeridge’s family and friends. He will be inviting Members to pay tribute to him at the next physical meeting of the Council when that is arranged.
