Keeping in touch during isolation

Age UK

Information on coronavirus, including updates on how you can look after yourself and loved ones, support from Age UK, and ways you can support older people.

For many people the current social distancing measures can leave them feeling isolated and lonely. No one wants to feel like that and it’s only natural to want to chat.

Age UK offers a local befriending service for over 65s. Information is available Age UK website, or you can email them at or call 020 8560 6969, Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm.

Silverline service

The Silver Line operates the only confidential, FREE helpline for older people across the UK that’s open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days of the year.

They also offer telephone friendship where we match volunteers with older people based on their interests,  facilitated group calls, and help to connect people with local services in their area. Call the helpline on 0800 4 70 80 90.

Elefriends Elefriends is a supportive online community run by Mind.

Carer support

If you're a carer needing support, you can contact Carers Direct and the Carers Trust, both of whom are able to provide support and advice on any issues affecting you.
