Hounslow House closure over the Christmas and New Year period 2019/20

Find out what council services can be accessed over the festive period. 

Hounslow House, 7 Bath Road will close from at 5pm on Tuesday 24 December and will re-open from 9am on Thursday 2 January 2020.

During this time, residents can access services online and via emergency numbers:

Housing offices  

All housing offices will close at 5pm on Tuesday 24 December and reopen at 9am on Thursday 2 January 2020.

During the period we are closed, emergency repairs and housing situations can be reported to the Out of Hours Emergency telephone line on 020 8583 2222.

Homelessness

Rough sleeping is the most visible form of homelessness. As a council we seek to prevent it at the earliest opportunity, although we are only able to assist those willing to receive our help. 

If you are concerned about someone you have seen sleeping rough please report this online by visiting: www.streetlink.org.uk  or by calling 0300 500 0914.

Hounslow Community FoodBox is a registered charity (1170666), which provides primarily emergency food, support, and advice to those who are in need of help and live in the London Borough of Hounslow.

Linkline + service

With free installation for the basic service and a weekly fee of £3.50 per week Linkline is a quick response telephone service that lets you tell someone when you need help.
Staffed all day everyday (24/7/365) - to give you peace of mind to live independently - knowing you can call when you need to and that help is at hand.

Recycling and waste 

Refuse collection dates

Christmas tree recycling 

Real Christmas trees will be collected for recycling during January 2020.

Please note: Only Christmas trees will be collected. All decorations, pots and stands need to be removed before they are placed out for collection.

The Christmas tree collection service only applies to properties using the black wheeled bin service. Residents that live in a flat should either speak to their managing agent and/or landlord on how to dispose of their tree or alternatively you can drop it off at one of the drop-off points listed above throughout January.

Parking

Parking will be FREE in council controlled paid-for parking spaces, on-street and in car parks on Tuesday 24 December.

Bank Holiday restrictions will apply in council controlled car parks and on-street parking on the following days:

  • Wednesday 25 December [Christmas Day]
  • Thursday 26 December [Boxing Day]
  • Wednesday 1 January [New Year’s Day]

Normal charges will apply on:

  • Saturday 28 December
  • Monday 30 December
  • Tuesday 31 December.

Please note: Other parking restrictions such as double yellow lines will still be in place and will be enforced during this time.

Our secure online payment service will operate as normal 24 hours a day throughout the Christmas period.

Travel arrangements – Tube and train services

If you're planning to travel into the west end over the festive period, you are advised to ‘check before your travel’ as there will be some changes to normal services.
