Clothing, textiles and shoes recycling collections

We collect clothing, textiles and shoes in clearly marked plastic bags.

These should be placed alongside your recycling boxes, which we collect every week. You can use our online tool to look up your collection day.

You can put out:

  • bags
  • blankets
  • clothes
  • curtains
  • duvet covers
  • pillow cases
  • socks
  • shoes and trainers (pairs only)
  • sheets

You can't put out:

  • duvets
  • pillows

Why you should recycle textiles

Textiles are the second most polluting industry in the world. In West London, we dispose of 18,000 tonnes of textiles as rubbish every year. Nationally, we dispose of 300,000 tonnes every year.

What happens to textiles we collect

We sort textiles into:

  • clothes for sale in charity shops
  • clothes for export
  • rags
  • felt
