Penalties and fines
Failure to meet the conditions of your licence is an offence. An application to renew an existing licence must be made before it expires.
Failure to renew in good time may result in one of one or more the following penalties:
• prosecution which may result in unlimited fines
• registered on the Rogue Landlord Database
• financial penalty notices, up to a maximum fine of £30,000
• rent repayment orders
• interim Management orders
• unable to issue a section 21 "Notice Requiring Possession" during the period the property is unlicensed.
