How to stand as a South West Constituency Assembly Member candidate

Candidate qualifications
To be able to stand as a South West Constituency Assembly Member candidate, you must be:
- at least 18 years old on the day of her or his nomination
- a citizen of the UK, Republic of Ireland, European Union or Commonwealth
- registered to vote in London, or have lived, worked, rented or owned property in London for the past 12 months
Candidate nominations
If you intend to stand as a South West Constituency Assembly Member candidate, you are required to submit the following to the Constituency Returning Officer (CRO):
- a completed nomination and nomination consent form which must be obtained from the CRO. Please click here to download a nomination pack or email elections@hounslow.gov.uk to request for a pack to be sent to you.
- a deposit of £1,000 which is returned if the candidate gets more than five per cent of votes cast in that constituency
- if standing as the candidate for a political party, a certificate of authorisation from the registered political party’s nominating officer
- if using a registered political party’s emblem on the ballot paper, a signed request to do so.
