Eligibility
You may be eligible to apply for BUS funding if you:
- live in England or Wales
- own your property (whether this is a home or a small non-domestic property)
Private landlords and second-home owners are eligible to apply, as well as property owners who may have already received separate funding for energy efficiency upgrades such as insulation, doors or windows.

Systems eligible for funding
Grants are only available for:
- air source heat pumps
- biomass boilers
- ground source heat pumps (including water source heat pumps and those on shared ground loops)
BUS funding is available for any new heating systems that were commissioned on or after 1 April 2022, and meet all the requirements outlined in the scheme guidance.
