Your homelessness application and decisions

We will take a homelessness application from you if you are threatened with homelessness within the next 56 days or if you are actually homeless.  The application process involves a detailed assessment of your housing history, your current housing situation, and what housing and support you need.  You will be asked many questions as part of your homelessness application and the more information you can provide, the easier it is for us to help you in the best way we can.  If you do not provide information we require, we may not be able to help you but this would be explained to you.

If you become homeless, we may have to place you into emergency accommodation while we look for a suitable private rented property for you to move to.  We try to find accommodation in Hounslow or in the surrounding area but we also have to look at what you can afford.

We will tell you in writing what homelessness duty we owe you and when this comes to an end.

The letter you receive will tell you about any right of review you may have if you do not agree with the decision.
