We operate a planned programme for maintaining street trees.
Trees are only removed when they are dead, dying or dangerous, or if they prevent the safe use of the road. A tree will only be removed when absolutely necessary.
When a tree has been removed it will be included in a replacement programme. A site visit will be made and various criteria considered as to the priority that will be given to replacing that tree. A tree will not be replaced in the same place. Residents can make a contribution to the replacement of such trees.
Normally about November of each year, when the annual leaf fall has finished we undertake a cleansing programme to ensure that roads within the borough are systematically cleared of leaves.
