Air quality

Hounslow council is committed to improving the air quality in the borough.

We regularly review and monitor the quality of air in the borough because of its poor levels.

Factors that influence the quality of air:

  • Fossil fuels used by cars and lorries;

  • Aircraft fuel being close to an international airport;

  • Gases carried out by factory chimneys and power stations;

  • Gas and oil fired central heating boilers, and

  • Open fires and bonfires.
