We have a programme of safe and healthy routes to school that are aimed at discouraging children and their parents and carers from driving to and from school, and to consider walking, cycling or using public transport instead.
School crossing patrols are provided where children are in danger from road traffic when walking to and from school.
This is not necessarily outside a school, but could be anywhere on a direct route.
