Moving in
If you are moving into the London Borough of Hounslow, you will need to let us know immediately so that we can prepare your correct bill. You can do this online or by telephone.
To set your account up online, complete the council tax - moving in e-form available on the right.
If you phone us on 020 8583 4242, we should be able to set your account immediately, estimate how much your tax will be, and send you a mandate to set up automatic payments by direct debit or allow immediate internet or telephone banking payments.
We will need the following information:
the full postal address and postcode of your new property as well as the date you bought your property or started your tenancy there
the date you are moving in, if this differs from the above
the full name(s) of anyone living in the property aged 18 or over;
if you are the owner, we may ask for the name and address of your solicitors, and the forwarding address of the previous owner
if you are the tenant, we will need to know the name and address of your landlord.
We will aim to send you your council tax bill within 14 days of your account being set up.
Moving out
Please let us know when you move homes. This will allow us to ensure that you stop getting bills for services you no longer receive. With your new address we can also make sure any further correspondence is sent to the right place. Providing us with this information will also help make life simpler for the incoming resident.
To notify us of your intention to move, please complete the council tax - moving out e-form, available on the right.
Once you have moved, it is sensible to register immediately on the electoral roll of your new local authority. This will ensure that your name is removed from the Hounslow register.
