Locata is a lettings scheme, which allows tenants to apply for vacant properties not just in Hounslow, but also in neighbouring boroughs who are part of the Locata scheme.
How do I become a member of Locata?
Ask for a transfer form from your local housing office, complete and return it. You will then receive a pack explaining all you need to know about Locata. You will be sent a fortnightly freesheet of available homes which you can apply for post, telephone or on the internet.
How long will I wait to be housed?
A lot depends on you. You may apply for up to three homes in each freesheet which is published fortnightly. Please remember that houses, property with gardens, and ground floor homes are the most popular, attracting a high number of bids.
Suppose I bid successfully then I don’t like the property when I view it?
At present, there are no penalties for refusing property, but this may be reviewed in the future.
