We offer a commercial waste collection to all businesses in the borough that collects almost any commercial waste. However, you can contact us for information about hazardous waste, for example, asbestos. This is a specialised field but we can put you in touch with the right people.
Business rates coverage of trade waste
Business rates do not cover the cost of trade waste collection or handling. You must make arrangements with either the council or a private company to collect your trade waste. Alternatively, you can take your trade waste directly to Space Waye Civic Amenity Site and pay to dispose of your waste there.
The cost to dispose of mixed waste at Space Waye is £150 per tonne. It is recommended that you organise and recycle as much of the material as you can. A clean load of recyclable material, eg garden waste, cardboard, timber, scrap metal etc., will save you money and only be charged at £50 per tonne.
Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, Section 34 Duty of Care, you are obliged to dispose of your trade waste in an appropriate manner.
We can enforce this act by asking to see your waste transfer notice.
