I had a tripping incident, how can I make a claim?
Anyone can make a claim whether it is successful or not will depend on whether or not the Council has been negligent.
You can make a claim for personal injury, damage or loss by notifying the Highways Section.
What happens next?
An Insurance Officer investigates the claim and co-ordinates all the paperwork before it is passed to the Insurance Section where it will either by dealt with internally or by Gallagher Bassett claim handlers.

Any information given may be shared with other appropriate Council departments and outside agencies for the registered purposes under the Data Protection Act 1998.
The Council is under a duty to protect funds they handle and may use the information you provide to prevent and detect fraud. Therefore the information you supply may be checked against other Council records. The Council may also share this information, for the same purposes, with other organisations that handle public funds.
How long after an incident can I make a claim?
A claim for personal injury can be made up to 3 years after the incident. For damage only a claim can be made up to 6 years after the incident.
