Hounslow Council

Parking

In a period when car ownership is on the increase and the pressures on parking spiralling, it’s our role to ensure everyone follows parking restrictions.

We aim to

  • protect resident permit bays for genuine permit holders

  • reduce traffic congestion and promote safety for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians by issuing parking permits and parking tickets (PCNs) where appropriate

  • respond to challenges made against any parking tickets (PCNs)

Along with the above, we contribute to the economic well being of the borough by ensuring a turnover of available spaces in short-term parking bays in shopping and amenity areas and have a responsibility to look after pay and display machines.

We also provide and manage a business permit parking scheme and facilities for builders and removal companies by putting in bay suspensions and yellow line waivers.

We aim to treat all our customers in a fair and consistent manner and to deal with all contacts efficiently and effectively.

We are actively working with Transport for London, the Metropolitan Police, bus companies and the emergency services to ensure the needs and interests of our residents remain a priority - please see our Parking and Traffic Enforcement Policy for more information, available on this page under documents for download.
