Hounslow Council

How to search for information on this website

You can use the Search Engine box in the top right of each page to find what you are looking for.

The search will look for all of the words you type into the search box, e.g. 'Council Tax':

  • If it does not find what you are looking for, try using less words which should return more matches on the search page change.

  • If you get too many matches try being more specific, e.g. Council Tax Benefit.

Using the category filter

On the results page, you can drill down to see only one website category's results by clicking the relevant link above the search results.

For example, if you searched for a word and then clicked 'Advice and Benefits', you would then be shown a filtered list of all relevant pages under that category.

Refining your search

  • Using AND between keywords will return pages that includes all the words words e.g. Council AND Tax

  • Using OR for a search that should include either of the words e.g. Housing OR Houses

  • Using a - (negative character) before a search term will mean that term will not appear in the search results e.g. -tax

  • Putting your search term in speech marks will search for an exact phrase match e.g. “Community Plan”
