7. Invest an extra £2 million into keeping roads and pavements safe and in good condition
There is much work to do to improve the state of Hounslow’s 763km of pavements and 432km of roads.
To tackle this we have won £267m extra from government to transform roads and pavements in the borough, and to make them some of the best in the country.
The work will take a number of years to complete. In the meantime we are investing an extra £2 million into improving road and pavement maintenance.
This investment will increase safety, improve the look of the area, and help to encourage business to invest.
One of our aims is to make Hounslow the major enterprise centre in west London; a well-maintained road network is vital to this ambition.
