We have a number of opportunities available in various departments across the council.
Whilst you are employed under the Learn & Earn apprenticeship programme you will be required to complete an NVQ Level 2 in either business administration or customer service.
What will you be doing?
Generally, in all the roles you will be providing admin support to the team you will be working in, by doing the following:
typing letters, minutes of meetings and sending emails
logging information, keeping records and maintaining electronic systems
filing, faxing, photocopying
dealing with customers over the telephone and fact to face
undertaking specific projects related to the work of the team
assisting officers with arranging meetings, conferences and events
attending training courses, sitting any exams, tests or completing portfolios of evidence as required by the learning provider, assessor or your manager
What skills will you need to do these jobs?
You will need to have passed our selection tests and be successful at interview.
You will be assessed for the following:
good communication skills (both written and oral)
good ICT skills (using MS Word and Excel)
an ability to work with others
good literacy and numeracy skills
good level of accuracy and the ability to pay attention to detail
