Hounslow Council

About

A partnership has been formed between Hounslow Council’s HR team and its Education Business Partnership (EBP) team, together with Quantica (a training provider), supported by funding from the Learning & Skills Council (LSC).

The EBP already has excellent link and relationships with other major players in training. These include the local FE College, independent training providers such as Quantica, Sector Skills bodies such as Remit, Construction Skills, Springboard, the Connexions Service, the LSC, the local and sub regional Chambers of Commerce, and so on.

The EBP also have longstanding and substantial links with all the Council’s schools, developed over a 20 year period, and they currently have over 700 employers working with them to support educational activities. In the last 10 years, the EBP has organised more than 30,000 work experience placements for the Council’s young people.

Each Apprentice will have an individual training plan; take part in structured induction; work towards their NVQ and technical certificate and if necessary key skills. They will have the support of an officer from EBP; a Learning & Development Advisor and an external trainer and assessor from the training provider Quantica.

An integral part of the support for young people will be mentors (who will befriend and act as buddies), who will be chosen from existing staff in Hounslow. The aim is to have one mentor per apprentice.
