Help into employment

If you are unemployed and not in full time education (more than 16 hours a week) and live in Hounslow, there are a range of opportunities available to help you to find employment.

Employment Tracks can provide you with job search skills, information, guidance and help with applying for jobs.  This can include:

  • Professional advice and guidance on where and how to find work

  • Short-term vocational training, to give you the skills employers are looking for

  • Support to update your CV and gain valuable job search and interview skills to increase your chances of getting a job

  • Short Work Experience placements, which could lead to paid jobs with local employers

  • Financial support to help you meet some of the costs of starting work

  • Online job search resources and a dedicated Job Coach to support you

Hounslow Building Foundations Scheme provides opportunities for apprenticeships, work placements and trade training which could help you become employed in the construction industry.

Over the next two years REDS10 will support Hounslow borough residents by providing advice and guidance, skills training and personal development and create opportunities for local people to enter employment at construction sites across the borough.

Heathrow Academy can provide training and support to help you to find work at Heathrow airport.

The academy works closely with employers at Heathrow to make sure that the training on offer reflects the competencies and skills needed to work in the various airport sectors eg retail, aviation and logistics or construction.

Opportunities can range from skilled positions for candidates with qualifications and relevant experience to entry level positions for those with little or no experience.

Candidates interested in this opportunity must:

  • Hold a valid passport

  • Demonstrate five years' worth of references

  • Be eligible to work in the United Kingdom

  • Be able to work a varied shift pattern between 4am and 11pm
