What is the purpose of grants/financial assistance?
Grants and financial assistance can be used:
to carry out minor adaptations of properties occupied by disabled persons
to carry out repairs of properties occupied by elderly or vulnerable households
to improve energy efficiency of properties occupied by elderly or vulnerable households
to bring long term empty properties back into use.
improve fire safety and provision of amenities licensable HMOs.
Who is eligible for grants?
Apart from mandatory disabled facilities grant (DFG), all grants and financial assistance are provided on a discretionary basis in accordance with the council’s Discretionary Grants Policy (see web links to the right).
