Many overcrowded families have been waiting for a larger home for a long time.
In recent years, the prospect of moving into alternative permanent housing has become more difficult because of the very large numbers of households on the council’s housing register.
We work with overcrowded families in the borough and may be able to come to your home and discuss a range of housing options that you may wish to consider.

Visit you in your home to assess your current living conditions
Provide information and advice about different housing options
Refer you to a variety of schemes and projects that help families in overcrowded housing
Offer space-saving suggestions to enable you to make the most of your current space
Assign you to a dedicated officer who will work with you if you choose to move out of your current home
