We provide a range of help and support for older people (65+) and their carers who may be vulnerable because of age or frailty. Our aim is to support you to live a full and independent life.
It is important for us all to feel safe and secure within the comfort of our own home and this does not change the older we get. We will work with you and your carer to identify the services you need. We also provide direct payments so that you can organise and buy-in your own care services.
The kind of support available ranges from providing you with home care to help with washing and dressing, equipment and adaptations to help you get around at home, meals service if you are unable to prepare your own food and day care to help you feel less isolated.
And when living at home safely is no longer an option, we can provide you with information and access to supported-housing or residential and nursing homes.
We also recognise the important job that carers do and have a range of support to help make sure that carers are fit and well and able to carry out their caring role.
The kind of support that is available will depend upon your needs and your family circumstances. Whilst the assessment of your needs is free of charge, there is likely to be a cost for the services we provide. You will be financially assessed to see whether you will need to pay the full cost of services or a contribution towards them.
