We provide a range of help and support for older people (65+) and their carers who may be vulnerable because of age or frailty. Our aim is to support you to live a full and independent life.
It is important for us all to feel safe and secure within the comfort of our own home and this does not change the older we get. We will work with you and your carer to identify the services you need. If you are eligible for social care services, you will get the opportunity to manage a personal budget. This is a sum of money we give you to purchase your own care services. We can also help you if your unable to manage this money yourself.
The kind of support available includes:
home care;
help with washing and dressing;
equipment and adaptations to help you get around at home;
hot meals if you are unable to prepare your own food; and
advice to help you feel less isolated.
If you can no longer live at home safely and independently, we can help you choose another options such as supported-housing or residential and nursing homes.
We also have a range of support services for carers to help make sure the carers are fit and well and able to carry out their important caring role.
The kind of support that is available will depend upon your needs and your family circumstances. Whilst the assessment of your needs is free of charge, there is likely to be a cost for the services we provide.
You will be financially assessed to see whether you will need to pay the full cost of services or a contribution towards them.
