Sign language interpretation

British Sign Language (BSL) is the first or preferred language of many deaf people.

Our service provides:

  • Interpreters - a sign language interpreter is a trained professional who interprets information from sign language into English and vice versa

  • Deaf-blind interpreters

  • Note takers

  • Lip speakers

  • Speech to text reporters

Interpreters are available on weekdays, weekends and evenings, for council, health and other public, private and voluntary sector services.

If you would like to book a BSL interpreter, please give at least two weeks' notice if possible.
