Children and young people's plan

The Children and Young People's Plan (CYPP) sets out the priorities and actions for the development of all local services relating to children and young people in Hounslow over the period 2012 - 2015.

This three year plan replaces the one year 2011-2012 CYPP and reflects longer term local improvement outcomes and targets for children, young people and families in Hounslow.  The plan applied to three groups:

  • children and young people aged 0-19 years

  • young people over 20 leaving care

  • young people up to the age of 25 with learning difficulties

Whilst we have responsibility for coordinating the CYPP, it has been developed with the full involvement of all partners on the Children's Trust board.

About the plan

The plan covers all the services for which we are directly responsible and the work of partners who provide services for children and young people.  The services include:

  • health

  • education

  • social care

  • youth services

  • youth offending services

  • early years

The priorities within the plan will inform the development of more local service plans that will provide the detail of how we will deliver the actions that it outlines.  We will monitor the plan systematically to ensure that we achieve the intended progress.

The plan was developed through informed consultation with a wide range of stakeholders including children, young people, parents, carers, the local community and professional groups.  It was also developed by reviewing information and data from a wide range of sources.  Both consultation and data helped to develop our principles of working, priority setting and outcome measures that are set out in the CYPP.
