A user-led centre for people with mental health issues called Number 10 offers modern facilities amid a friendly and welcoming environment.
Number 10 is one of a handful of nationwide centres where clients make all the decisions governing how it is used. . The centre welcomes all people with mental health issues and their families. It is opened seven days a week from 9am to 10pm.
The Number 10 project has a kitchen and dining area, a lounge area with television, a pool table, an information library, a meeting area, and IT suite with Internet-ready computers. The Project was funded by a grant from the Department of Health.
To get involved in Number 10, you must become a member. It has a monthly usage of over 1200 people.
There are 20 group sessions which access this service which include:
cookery groups
art and craft
theatre group
carer support group
asian women group and many more.
Please note: there is a strict code of conduct and users are not allowed to bring drugs or alcohol on to the site
Groups wanting to use Number 10 must make an application to the management committee. The application will be discussed by the committee with a decision made and fed back.
