Adult social care

Adult social care is the term used for care services provided to adults from the age of 18 and over.  The services we provide help you to live a full and independent life.

We support:

  • people with mental health problems

  • people with a learning disability

  • people who are blind or partially sighted

  • people who are deaf or hard of hearing

  • people with a physical disability

  • people living with HIV or Aids

  • people with drug and alcohol problems

  • older people aged 65 plus

We have a range of services and information to support you to live and move around safely within your home.  Our day centres will help you feel less isolated and we can also support you with training to help you get back to work.  And when living at home is no longer an option, we can provide or help you to find the right kind of residential or nursing care for your needs.

As there is a high demand for services, we have an assessment process to make sure that those with greatest need receive the services they are entitled to.  There is a charge for our services and everybody will receive a financial assessment.  More detailed information on both the assessment process and our charges is provided - please follow the links.

You may prefer to find out about care services not directly provided by us.  Information on these can be found if you click the link to self-funders and alternative providers of care.
