Graffiti is a form of criminal damage.
It is illegal and anti-social and can create a negative impression of an area and can contribute to people’s fear of crime.
We have been working hard to remove graffiti all year round, and thanks to more local people reporting it, we’re removing graffiti more than ever.
Removing graffiti
The best way of reducing graffiti is to remove it as quickly as possible.
We employ a specialist graffiti and fly-poster removal contractor who use a combination of methods to remove graffiti and flyposting. All chemicals used are environmentally friendly and biodegradeable products, and all paint is good quality Polyurethane or Terrathene based. We try to match the new paint colour to the existing as closely as possible.
We remove graffiti and flyposting from all council-owned alleyways and footpaths, street furniture, litter bins, notice boards, street signs, street benches and traffic islands etc. within three days of it being reported.
We can also remove graffiti from residential properties if they are facing the public highway. Call us for more information on privately owned properties.
Racist/offensive graffiti and flyposting will be removed within 24 hours (or one working day) of it being reported.
