Hounslow Council

Flyposting

Flyposting is the illegal and unauthorised placing of any sign, poster or sticker advertising or promoting an event or commercial activity on any street sign, public utility street cabinets or on private premises.

We are responsible for the removal of flyposting from council property on the public highway. Public utilities e.g. telecom industry, public transport are responsible for removing flyposting from their property.

It is the responsibility of the property owner to remove such items fixed to private property.

We regularly monitor streets within the borough for illegal signs and will remove when found. In addition, a graffiti removal team undertake regular inspections of streets to remove any illegal signs found, or reported by residents

Enquiries are made with the source of these advertisements who are strongly advised to refrain from this illegal activity and that any future repetition may result in prosecution.

Public utilities and private owners are notified of any complaints about flyposting on their properties with a request for removal of these items.

You can report such instances or seek further information by contacting us.
