Hounslow Council

Waste strategies

The Future of Waste Management and the Hounslow Waste Strategy on this page, sets out how we will deal with our waste in the future. This feeds into various other local and national strategies, including the Joint Waste Strategy.

The Joint Waste Strategy, also on this page sets out how we intend to manage municipal solid waste arisings between 2005 and 2020. The West London Waste Authority (WLWA) and constituent boroughs must produce this strategy by law.

This is a joint strategy that covers the West London Waste Authority (WLWA) area, made up of the boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, and Richmond upon Thames.

This document provides a summary of our policies with regard to the strategy and is supported by a number of annexes and technical reports which explain how and why these policies have been formulated and how they will be implemented. Together, they form West London's Strategy.
