Space Waye visits

Hounslow Council’s Recycling Team invites local schools to visit Space Waye Re-use and Recycling Centre.

Visits last for an hour and include a 20 minute teaching session in the interactive classroom with a Recycling Officer, and a 20 minute tour around the site with the Site Manager to view waste and recycling facilities. The visit is designed to give KS1 and KS2 pupils the chance to experience waste and recycling on a large scale, and inform them of the importance of environmental issues.

Booking a visit to the Space Waye classroom

The visits are offered free of charge, although availability may be limited due to demand. A full class will need to attend in two groups to ensure Health and Safety requirements are met, with a maximum of 16 children on-site at any one time. Your school will need to be responsible for the discipline of the pupils, obtaining parental permission and organising transport to and from the site. Please note that limited funding is available from the Recycling Team to cover transport and supply teacher costs.
