We do not collect large items of waste through the general black sack household rubbish collection
These include:
furniture
electrical items
soil
rubble
Please seek other arrangements to remove these items. You can take all household bulky waste to your nearest reuse and recycling centre.
Our site is called Space Waye Reuse and Recycling Centre, although you may use neighbouring council sites if they are more convenient.
Alternatively you can use our Tidy Town bulky waste collection service.
Note: We cannot collect or remove waste generated from improvements you have made to your home.
If a contractor has carried this out on your behalf, then it their responsibility to remove this waste on your behalf.
If you have carried out the improvements yourself then it is advisable to hire a skip or to take your waste to your nearest reuse and recycling centre.
Note you may be charged for this service as it is classified as industrial waste.
Tidy Town bulky waste collection
The Tidy Town bulky waste collection service can be used to remove household waste and large items that are not suitable for the weekly black sack rubbish collection.
Large household items, such as furniture, electrical items and white goods, can be collected at a charge of £6.50 per item, with a minimum booking fee of £32.50.
To be eligible for this service, you must be the registered council tax payer and your payment details must match the council tax address.
To book a Tidy Town Bulky waste collection please contact 020 8583 5555.
One free collection each year will be available to people receiving:
council tax benefit
housing benefit
pension credit
income support
disability living allowance
attendance allowance
You may need to provide written evidence that you are receiving the benefit at the time of collection.
The free collection will be for a maximum of five items, with additional items charged at £6.50 each. Please note that the bulky waste service is for residents only. We do NOT provide this service for businesses or landlords.
Please also note the service cannot collect the following items:
garden waste (soft, bag-able) - The Green Garden Waste Collection Service should be used for this type of material; large trees can be collected through the bulky waste service but must be cut into manageable pieces.
cast iron baths, piano, paving slabs, rubble - These items are too heavy for the collection vehicles.
tyres, asbestos, meat or other hazardous waste - The vehicle is not licensed to carry this waste.
cooking oil - No more than 25 litres in a sealed container.
The Hounslow Furniture Recycling Project will collect reusable items of furniture that are in good condition, free of charge. Items are then made available to residents on low incomes to purchase from a showroom in Isleworth.
You can also donate a number of items for free through various commmunity groups or organisations. Please visit our useful links page under our recycling web page for further information.
If you have any items to donate, please contact them on 020 8814 2225.
