Hounslow's Statement of Community Involvement

Adoption of the Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) and Inspector’s Report

As required by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, the London Borough of Hounslow has produced a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI). This was adopted by the Council on 26th September 2006 and sets out how the Council will involve the community and its stakeholders in preparing its LDF and consulting on planning applications. The adopted SCI can be downloaded below.

The SCI takes in views and comments obtained during two stages of consultation. The first stage took place between August and September 2005 and the second in the 6 weeks following 31st January 2006, when the SCI was submitted to the Secretary of State. An independent examination of the SCI by the Secretary of State took place on 19th June 2006, held by Planning Inspector Ms M Travers as an informal hearing.

The Inspector's Report was received on 27th June 2006 and can be downloaded below. The report does not summarise cases submitted to the examination but focuses on whether or not the SCI is 'sound'. The changes recommended by the Inspector, on behalf of the Secretary of State, are incorporated in the SCI in accordance with Section 23(3) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.

The Regulation 31 Statement summarises the consultation undertaken, the main issues raised and Councils response, and can be downloaded below.
