The government has introduced a new system to manage how development takes place in towns and the countryside.
The Local Development Frameworks (LDF) is a folder of local development documents prepared by councils outlining the spatial planning strategy for the local area. It will determine how the planning system will help to shape our communities.
We have already made progress delivering our LDF. Documents already produced or in progress include:
The Statement of Community Involvement which was adopted by the council in September 2006 following two stages of consultation
The Brentford Area Action Plan and Employment Development Plan are both in progress, having been through two stages of consultation. They are expected to be submitted to the Secretary of State in June 2007, with examinations at the end of 2007 or beginning of 2008
Core Strategy - consulting until 31 July 2007.
The timetable for the production of the LDF and other documents we are producing is set out in the Local Development Scheme, available to download to the right of this page.
