Environment Agency Land Quality
The Environment Agency's contaminated land information pages. Local authorities work closely with the Environment Agency on contaminated sites that pose a specific risk to water resources. The agency also publishes guidance and procedures for local authorities dealing with contaminated land.
DEFRA (Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs)
DEFRA's land quality information pages. They are responsible for producing the primary and secondary legislation for contaminated land and also produce research and guidance documents.
HMSO (Her Majesty’s Stationary Office)
HMSO are the organisation responsible for the access to acts of parliament and statutory instruments. Technical documents can also be ordered from the HMSO website.

The Health Protection Agency work closely with the NHS and provides advice to government departments and local authorities on human health effects from chemicals and contamination.
CIRIA (Construction Industry Research and Information Association)
CIRIA's contaminated land information site. The site includes many links to further sources of relevant information. CIRIA are a research organisation concerned with improving the performance of all those involved in construction and the environment.
