If you are affected by unreasonable noise on a Friday or Saturday night, Hounslow Council has a Noise Team that you can call.
Availability
This service is available on:
Friday night from10pm to 4am
Saturday night from 10pm to 4am
If you have a problem during those hours call 020 8583 2222.
You will need to provide your name, address and telephone number and details of where the noise is coming from.
Procedure
The details you give will be passed on to the Noise Team who will already be out on the road dealing with other noise complaints. The Noise Team will call you when possible to discuss your problem. They will ask you if you know the people concerned and whether in your opinion they may be dangerous (if so, Officers may request police assistance before approaching them). They will also want to know if this is a one-off event or whether you have an ongoing problem with your neighbours. Remember, the Officers have to consider their own safety before tackling a situation and therefore need your co-operation.
In order to assess whether the noise you are experiencing is a statutory nuisance the Team will need to come into your home to hear it there. Once they have assessed the problem they will then approach the offending neighbour and, if practicable, serve an abatement notice.
Please remember that the Noise Team is normally very busy and often there are a number of complaints to be dealt with before yours. It may take some time for them to call you and to visit you. If they are dealing with a house or car alarm it may be a few hours before they can deal with your call.
