We have launched a scheme, known as Scores on the Doors that allows you to check standards on food hygiene and safety carried out by environmental health officers of any food business.
The scheme is being launched due to increasing number of requests by the public to disclose inspection information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 Act.
Each business listed on the scheme will be measured against a star rating. The rating will mention the date of inspection, structural condition, level of confidence in management and emphasis will be based on the standard of food hygiene safety.
The information will enable you to make an informed decision based on good food safety standards but also encourage businesses to maintain high standards.
