Cooling towers and evaporative condensers have been linked to outbreaks of Legionnaire’s disease, a serious bacterial infection that causes pneumonia like illness. It may be fatal, particularly in more susceptible persons, such as the young, elderly and chronically ill.
If you are responsible for premises within the borough where cooling towers and evaporative condensers are located you are required to register with us. This allows us to identify potential sources of infection and take action to ensure that duty holders are controlling the risk at their premises.
If you have a cooling tower or evaporative condenser that has not been registered, or if you have just taken over responsibility for a premises that has this equipment, please complete a registration form, which can be downloaded on the right under "documents for download", and send back to us at:

Once we have received the completed form, we will send you a cooling tower certificate, which will contain a unique reference number for your premises.
