Hounslow Council

School appeals

If your application for any Hounslow school is unsuccessful, you have the right to appeal to an independent panel. There is no appeal for nursery, as this is not statutory education. You may only make one appeal per school, in a single academic year, unless there are changed circumstances.

Requesting an appeal pack

Please refer to your application decision letter for details on who to contact for appeals related to your application.

We arrange admission appeals for all Hounslow community schools and most other schools in Hounslow. Some non-community schools choose to arrange their own appeals, so you will have to contact these schools directly to request an appeal.

If you have checked your letter but are still unsure how to request an appeal or require more detailed advice, please contact us.

Appeals already submitted

To check progress for an appeal you have already submitted to us, please contact the democratic services appeals team. To check the progress for an appeal you have already submitted directly to a school, please contact that school.

Useful documents

Hounslow’s school admission appeals guide for parents will give you an overview of the appeals process. You can download the guide using the links on this page.
