16-19 year old students in further education who meet specified criteria are entitled to subsidised transport to and from their educational establishment.
Transport costs should not prevent students from staying on in post-16 education.
Assistance will normally be available with travelling expenses if the school or college is more than 3 miles from the student's home.
We will normally provide eligible students with reimbursement not in excess of a one zone bus pass.
Students attending further education colleges will need to apply to the college for assistance with transport.
We may consider helping those students who failed to be offered assistance from college funding for some clear and rational reason.
