Hounslow's recommended term and holiday dates
The dates set out below are based on a 190 pupil-day year. Schools will also set dates for five staff training days (inset) each academic year which are in addition to the school holidays. These dates are those recommended by the Local Government Association (LGA) for adoption by local authorities nationally and have been agreed as our recommended school year.
Please note that the following term dates are not mandatory and some of our schools may choose to set different dates. For information about individual schools it is recommended that parents/carers contact schools directly.

Academic year 2011/2012
The term dates below are based on a 189 pupil-day academic year in 2011/2012. This is a reduction from the standard 190 pupil-day year in recognition of the additional bank holiday to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The late May Bank Holiday will be moved to 4 June 2012 and an extra Bank Holiday will be added on 5 June 2012. There will therefore be a total of nine Bank holidays in England and Wales in 2012.
