Secondary transfer

The online system for secondary school transfer 2009 will be available from 1 September 2008

Benefits of applying online include:

  • An easy to use system

  • Information submitted is secure and confidential

  • The system will assist you in completing the application form correctly using online validation

  • Online pages provide you with up-to-date and easily accessible information on schools to assist you in making your application

  • You are allowed to view and make change to your application right up until midnight of the closing date of 24 October 2008

  • There is no need to complete and submit a paper form.

  • There is no need to submit proof of address, please see note below.

  • You will receive an electronic acknowledgement of your application, providing an unique reference number

  • Allocation details are available online without waiting for the post.  You can find out which school your child has been offered from 7am on 3 March 2009.

Please note:

  • The registration details must be those of the parent or carer and

  • Applicants must have an email address to register for online application

You will still be sent an email validation email asking 'to click on the link' to confirm your address.  You will then be sent two separate emails, for added security - one with their username and the other with your password.

You will also be able to generate a username reminder email or have a new password emailed via the 'Forgotten Username or Password' routine.

  • If you do not see a reference number you have not submiited your application

  • If you are applying online and there are exceptional medical or social reason why your child should attend a particular school, you must send a supporting letter from a hospital consultant or social worker to the Admissions Team at the address below by 24 October 2008

  • If you are applying to Brentford School for Girls, The Green School or Isleworth & Syon School for Boys, you are advised to state a preference for a single-sex school in the 'Reasons for preference' box.

  • If you are applying for a voluntary aided (church) school you must still complete the supplementary forms.

We will use the same process for considering your online application as we do for paper applications.

To try and make efficiency savings please try and apply online as this will help us reduce administration costs.

Please note, if applying online do not submit proof of address or a paper application form. Addresses will be checked for proof of residence. You may be contacted if further proof is required. Please note it is a criminal offence to give  a false address on an application. If both an online application and a form are submitted, only the last submitted by the closing date will be considered.

Voluntary aided (church) schools

If you apply for one or more of these schools, you must obtain supplementary forms from the school or schools, and return these completed forms to the relevant schools by 24 October 2008.  Please note that this is in addition to the application that has to be submitted to us or your home council. Failure to submit a supplementary form and a council form (or applying online) may mean that your preference for the VA school will not be considered.
