Hounslow Council

Local Area Agreement

The Local Area Agreement (LAA) sets actions and targets to meet the objectives set out in the Community Plan.

It is agreed between the LSP and central government and enables certain funds to be spent more flexibly to deliver desired outcomes.

The LAA is monitored by the Government Office for London every six months.

Hounslow’s new three-year LAA was agreed in June 2008 and includes 35 improvement targets negotiated between central government and London Borough of Hounslow.  A stretch target is one where there is investment in the activity to achieve better performance.

There are cross-cutting themes which overarch five blocks. These cover environment and sustainability, culture, transport, and education.

The blocks of the LAA and the sub-LSP groups responsible for overseeing the work that takes place are listed below:

  • Children and Young People’s Block - Children and Young People’s Partnership Board

  • Safer and Stronger Communities - Community Safety Partnership (Cllr Andrews)

  • Economic Development and Enterprise - Strategic Skills and Employment Group (Cllr Thompson)

  • Healthier Communities and Older People - Health and Social Care Partnership (Cllr Pamela Fisher)

Our new LAA will be reviewed annually and any subsequent updates will appear on these pages.
