The Children and Young People's Plan (CYPP) sets out the high-level aims of agencies working for children and young people in Hounslow over the period 2007 - 2010.
Whilst we have responsibility for coordinating the CYPP, it has been developed with the full involvement of all partners on the Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership.
The plan is one of the statutory requirements of the Children Act 2004 and is an important element of the Every Child Matters change programme. It is a powerful tool in ensuring that local agencies work well together to provide better services to children and young people.
The plan sets out a vision for children and young people in Hounslow and identifies how outcomes for children and young people can be best improved. It summarises key priorities, actions and targets for improving children and young people’s health.
The plan also sets out how the council and key agencies such as the police and PCT will be developing new integrated services and ways of working in response to Every Child Matters and the Children Act 2004.
The contents of the plan are specific to Hounslow but also meet government requirements. It was developed through informed consultation with a wide range of stakeholders including children, young people, parents, carers, the local community and professional groups.
It was also developed by reviewing information and data from a wide range of sources. Both consultation and data helped to develop the vision, challenges and actions that are set out in the CYPP.

We are required to produce a review of the plan each year. The most recent review can be downloaded from this page.
The review provides an opportunity for us to collectively take stock of the progress that has been made in delivering the vision and priorities set out in the plan over the last year; to review the impact of activities on outcomes for children and young people; to take account of any changes locally and nationally that may require the current set of priorities and objectives to be revised; and to identify the key priorities for action in the coming year.
