We are proposing to implement a local safety scheme on Feltham High Street between Poplar Way to Browells Lane.
The scheme aims to improve road safety and reduce the number of accidents occurring on this road.
These proposals are funded by Transport for London (TfL) following a successful bid for funds last year by Hounslow Council.
These proposals aim to reconfigure the available road width and change driver behaviour, such as, driving at inappropriate speeds, lane switching and adopt lane discipline and a more moderate speed appropriate to the immediate environment.
The proposals include, a northbound bus lane between Poplar Way and the Tesco superstore, improved cycle facilities, alterations to existing pedestrian refuges and traffic islands, safety improvements at both signalised junction with priority changes on the approaches, changes to the parking restrictions / provisions throughout this section of the High Street to improve traffic flows.
In addition, modifications to two bus stops with an additional bus stop clearway and waiting restrictions near Poplar Way/Charleston Close junction.
