Hounslow Council

Residents' panel

At Hounslow, the views of our residents are important to us.

We ask local people for their views on a number of subjects to help to improve the services which we provide for the community. A residents' panel was set up in 2003 to involve local people in giving us their views on a regular basis. The panel is made up of people who have agreed to take part in up to four surveys a year and occasionally some focus groups, generally for a three year period.

As far as possible, the demographics (things like gender and age) of the 2,000 adults on the panel are very similar to the total of the adult population here in Hounslow. We send out invitations to join the panel on a random basis to minimise the risk of any demographic bias.

The surveys are usually carried out in March, June, September and December. The March and June surveys generally ask questions about specific priorities of departments, the September survey asks the same questions each year to track your views on the council's services and the December survey is a telephone survey where residents are asked about the council's budget priorities.

The results of these surveys can be seen by selecting one of the documents on the right.
