Statement of Community Involvement review

This consultation is now closed - thank you for your feedback.

We reviewed the Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) which was adopted in September 2006.

The SCI is a statutory document identifies the process of community involvement and engagement for each type of planning policy document and development management decision our planning department undertakes.

This document sets out a clear public statement, enabling the community to know how and when they will be involved in the planning process.

A review is necessary so that the SCI is consistent with government legislation and that it reflects the changes that have taken place to our cabinet and area committee structures. An up to date SCI will demonstrate that we have followed the correct consultation requirements whilst preparing our planning policy documents or when inviting comments on planning applications.

All comments were sent in by 5pm on Monday 21 November. You were aslo given another opportunity to comment on the draft updated SCI once it is written and formally consulted on.

The adopted SCI can be found on this page, under documents for download.

It is also available to view at the Civic Centre and local libraries. Hard copies of the document are available on request. If you require a copy of the adopted SCI in an alternative format or have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact the planning policy team on 020 8583 5202 or ldf@hounslow.gov.uk.
